AXS will host 12 regular season events and one Invitational Event for the 2021 season.
There will be a number of stand alone events throughout the season as well. These stand alone events do not have any effect on season points, standings or season awards. (Scratch Events, Turkey Shoot, New Year’s Day Doubles, Kings & Queens, King of the Mountain, Champs / Non Champs)
The stand alone events will count towards events bowled for the Invitational at the end of the year.
All events are open to any USBC sanctioned bowlers. Sanctioning will be available the day of the event.
Entries & Averages
There is a $20 membership fee. This membership MUST be paid to participate in any AXS event.
All $20 of this membership fee goes towards end Invitational Event Prize fund and any tournament expenses that may come up.
Entry fee is $40 per entry, per person if you PRE-Register online at bowlaxs.com. It is recommended that you pre-register as some squads may sell out this season.
Entry fee is $45 per entry, per person if you do NOT register online in advance of the event (6 pm the night before deadline). All $5 will go towards the prize fund for the Invitational Event at the end of the season.
Entering averages will be determined by using your highest book average from the 2019-20 season, then re-rated using the USBC Challenge shot average adjustment chart.
Any Challenge shot entering average will NOT be re-rated.
Any Sport shot entering average will be re-rated to a challenge shot average using the USBC adjustment chart.
You will use the highest of your current book re-rated (1), challenge or sport shot average (2) or last year’s AXS Tournament average (3) as your entering average for this season.
Anyone with a current average of 21 games or more with no book average may provide a standing sheet from their league to use that average as their entering average. If you have less than 21 games in one league, but have at least 21 combined games in multiple leagues, a composite average will be used. (Leagues must be sanctioned to use these averages)
Anyone with no book average and no current average will enter at 200. (scratch)
If your current average is ten pins or higher than your book at the time you enter, you must report that average and use it for entering the event.
After 4 squads, you will receive a tournament average (16 games). You will then use your tournament average for the remainder of the season regardless of your book average.
There will be a ten pin drop rule in effect once you have established a tournament average. NO bowler may drop 10 pins from their entering average, even once they have a tournament average.
Handicap is capped at 50 pins per bowler, per game.
The Tournament Director reserves the right to re-rate any bowler.
